Thailand to Vietnam by Bike

John Farnworth completed his journey from Thailand to Vietnam by bike on 23rd November.

Setting off from Bangkok on the 9th November he covered over 700 miles in temperatures over 40c to raise money for BLGC. He arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on the 23rd.

Afterwards in his post on LinkedIn, he said

“The final total is now in from our bike ride. I want to thank everyone for sponsoring me on this epic journey. It was even hotter than we thought with temperatures peaking at 41c.
We managed to go a little further with 712 miles cycled in total beside a very special group of people who have become good friends. We certainly needed each other at times.
As a group, at the present time, we have raised £166,849 for Bolton Lads and Girls Club to support the kids in our town.

We couldn’t have done it without your support.

Thank you, I’ll sign off with a little video of the trip.

Have a lovely Christmas break and I look forward to working with you in the the New Year xxx”

Also on the trip were Taylor Chantry, his brother Mackenzie and Dad George, from TMC, who are one of our valued main contractors.

It’s not the first ride John has done and it won’t be his last. As a business, giving back to our community is extremely important to us. Douglas Farnworth, our founder, has been a Rotarian and a member of Turton Rotary Club since 1977. His values are the values that we have today.
